I teach full-time in the New Millennium Studies: First Year Seminar Program at Columbia College Chicago. NMS is an interdisciplinary humanities seminar that's part of the Liberal Arts and Sciences core curriculum. Students read books, watch films, and talk about the big questions of life while responding with creative projects in a variety of media. I love my job and the challenge of teaching students with diverse backgrounds and interests.
In 2007-2008, I was the Ford Faculty
Fellow in Arts and Civic Engagement at Syracuse
University. There I developed a first-year writing seminar
about the history of Syracuse and public art and I worked with students in the production of site-specific audio documentaries based
on interviews with town residents.
