BFI and Bridge are pleased to present the world’s first WEIRD MIAMI Kayak Float! Expanding on BFI’s Weird Miami Bus Tour program, Fereshteh Toosi will lead a presentation of Water Radio: Liquid Intelligence. This immersive artwork is designed for small groups, as participants will listen deeply and discuss teachings offered by water as they float together through mangrove tunnels at Oleta State Park. This Kayak Float at Oleta will be the first in a series of Weird Miami events lead by Toosi across the county that will be co-presented by Bridge and BFI. Participants will experience hidden ecology as it is made audible through contemplative prompts informed by environmentally-focused healing practices, engaging in a series of sensory experiences focusing on reflection and listening.
At 9am, we will meet as a group at the BG Oleta River Outdoor Center. Breakfast and coffee will be provided before we take kayaks out at 9:30 sharp.
What is provided:
Kayak rental fee, breakfast, coffee & tea, drinking water, listening and recording equipment
What to bring:
Water bottle, sketchbook/notebook, bug spray, sunscreen, towel, sun-protective clothing (hat and sun shirt).
Water Radio is funded in part by The Ellies, Miami’s visual arts awards, presented by Oolite Arts.
