I’m happy to share this new zine, which was lovingly designed and printed by Exile Books. It features a kayak map and interviews I did with some of my favorite Miami people: Onajide Shabaka, Johanne Rahaman, and Houston Cypress.
To celebrate, I’ll be hosting a Kayak Float at Deering Estate during the Weird Miami Zine launch event, hosted by BFI.
You can download a digital copy at this link: Water Radio: Launch Frequencies or pick up a physical copy on Sunday September 26!

BFI’s WEIRD MIAMI program invites artists to create tours that reflect their relationship with the city as a kind of expanded studio visit. In the pandemic-present, BFI has evolved this program into the WEIRD MIAMI ANTHOLOGY, a collection of Self-Guided “WEIRD MIAMI” tours, excursions and experiences! Each “tour” is an experience designed by local artists to highlight unexpected sites and provide insight on why Miami is wild, weird and wonderful, while critiquing and imagining its future.
We are excited to be launching the next 3 chapters of the Weird Miami Anthology in partnership with Deering Estate. Join BFI at Deering Estate on Sunday morning, September 26th, to receive the next three physical zines in our ongoing publishing project, designed and printed with Exile Books. This trilogy of zines groups together site-specific activities and experiences that the audience is invited to participate in along the Old Cutler state historic highway.
